It’s Football Time!!
On Thursday October 8, LMS had their first Pep Rally for the football teams’ game against Cooper. Students piled into the gym at 10:30 waiting for the fun filled event to begin. Mr. Unger got the students pumped with some of his “mad rhyming skills”. The band then played the fight song and the cheerleaders cheered. All the grades competed in a Spirit Competition to see who was the loudest and the 8thgraders were the winners. The Lobos had some surprise visitors from Cooper. They sent their best coach, Coach Fizzle, best cheerleader, Dizzy, and starting quarterback, Bob, to Levelland to show us some of their “moves”. The coaches then announced our 7th and 8thgrade Lobo Football Teams. Four 8th graders and four 7th graders were picked to compete in a competition to see which grade could get 5 Cheetos to stick on their shaving cream covered faces. It was exciting to watch as the coaches threw Cheetos at the boys. The pep rally ended with a dance that involved the cheerleaders, 2 students and 2 teachers and then the fight song.

avitia's classDuring the week the students from the Pre-k Orange team(Ms. Avitia, Mrs. Haynes, Mrs. Green & Mrs. Snider) learned about the Letter Ff and did many activities on football. The week ended with a special surprise visit from the Levelland Lobo senior football players.  The boys toured the building inviting all Levelland ABC students to come watch the Homecoming game.   They even found time to stop and play catch with one student.  The students enjoyed the stories read by Romero Del Campo and Alex Garza.  The ABC students were so excited that in return, taught the players our “Do Your Job” cheer!  Their presence inspired many young boysAlex GarzaDo Your Job cheerThumbs Up to want to grow up and become Levelland Lobo football players.

School is almost upon us, but already our fine student-atheletes are hard at work, preparing their mind and bodies for the year to come.  You can feel the excitement in the air, its a palpable feeling, a buzz of energy and focus.

The players move with intesity and purpose as they move through their drills under the sun.  Right now we are doing 2-a-day training, with the players coming out early in the morning and then again in the late afternoon.
