Dr. Seuss
During the first week of March, Mrs. Coats class celebrated the author, Dr. Seuss. All week long we read books by this author, and on his actual birthday we made “at” hats. The students learned the sound of “at” and that by changing the beginning letter we were able to form new words.

Texas Tech Football Player, Taylor Potts
At Levelland ABC!!!
On Friday, February 26, 2010 Taylor Potts stopped by Levelland ABC’s Green team classes to finish off the study of “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!” He read the story to the students in Mrs. Coats, Ms. Graves, Mrs. Roberson, and Ms. Tucker’s class. The students were encouraged to “help” him read the story by calling out the letters in the alphabet. After the story was read, Taylor took pictures with the students of each classroom.
V for Volcano!!!
In learning the letter V, Ms. Tucker’s class constructed their very own volcano. At the beginning of the week we mixed together flour, salt, oil and water to make a clay like form for the structure of the volcano. We waited two days before we painted it brown. The class decided to wait until our Valentines party to watch it erupt. As you can see in these pictures the students were so excited to watch a volcano erupt.
