IMG_0259The Cactus Elementary 2nd Grade classes learned about dinosaurs this week.  Activities included centers, books, and activities including making Dinosaur Cookies (also known as No Bake Cookies).  Mrs. Sturgeon’s students enjoyed helping to read the recipe and make cookies in class!  Here is the recipe for your enjoyment!

 Dinosaur Cookies

½ cup swamp water (milk)

2 tablespoons dirt (cocoa)

½ cup bug guts (butter)

2 cups white sand (sugar)

Combine these ingredients in a pan, and bring to a boil, which takes about 2-3 minutes.  Remove the pan from heat and stir in ¾ cup tree sap (creamy peanut butter).  Add 3 cups tree bark (“quick” oatmeal) and 1 teaspoon Pterodactyl juice (vanilla).

Mix well and drop “cookie size” (spoonfuls) onto dinosaur skin (wax paper).  Wait until they have hardened, then serve with your favorite swamp drink.  Store in a bowl at cave temperature (room temperature)!  Enjoy!!
